About the role

We are on a search for a passionate, enthusiastic Assistant Centre Manager to cover a Maternity Leave Position with the possibility to extend. As an Assistant Centre Manager, you are responsible for the guidance, support and general supervision of children, educators, and volunteers at the Centre. You will lead a team of Educators to ensure they are working in accordance to the service philosophy, policy and procedures, and as per the National Quality Standards (NQS), to provide exceeding education and care for all families and children.

  • Strong and confident in an understanding of business management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment.

Essential Criteria

  • Diploma or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (approved by ACECQA) or working towards this qualification.
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
  • Ability to make business decisions and work with assigned budgets.

Key takeouts from the ACECQA workforce strategy

ACECQA has released Shaping our Future – a ten year strategy to ensure a sustainable, high quality children’s education and care workforce 2022-2031. This report is the culmination of a series of roundtables and consultation with the sector over the past year, initiated by State, Territory and Federal Governments as part of the Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration. 

The ACECQA Workforce Strategy Report highlights the workforce challenges the sector faces and proposes 21 actions to address them over the next ten years. We share key takeouts and what we are advocating for as the findings are implemented.
