Styles Street Community Child Care Centre is a not for profit community based service established in 1973 with a rich and long history in our local community. Rated Exceeding, this 60 place early childhood education and care service caters to children aged 2 years to school age. Our philosophy places relationships and social and emotional development at the forefront of our work with children and families. We use a play based curriculum and strive to provide a welcoming, warm and caring environment for all our children and their families. Styles Street Children's Community Long Day Care Centre has 2 beautiful large natural outdoor playgrounds and a home like setting inside.
About the role and Educator we are looking for…
We are looking for a full-time, part time and casual Certificate III Educators to join our passionate and dedicated team.
This role is a support role, guided by a supportive room leader and a strong and passionate team, yet you will need to be confident to work independently. You will be working closely with the children to support their learning and wellbeing. You will be required to supervise and interact with the children throughout their day to ensure they are safe, secure, supported and engaged in the program. You will also be required to support the team by completing daily tasks and cleaning and setting up the classroom.
If you are considering this role, you will have a positive can-do attitude and enjoy helping others and working in a team. You will have an understanding of the EYLF and be an advocate for children and a professional who makes decisions based on the best interests of the children. You will be one who is committed to their Early Childhood career and eager to contribute to our team. You will be a person looking to work in a creative, reflective and open team environment.
Essential Selection Criteria...
- Certificate III or equivalent
- Current First Aid and Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training
- Experience working with children aged birth to 6 years
- A passion for interacting with children and supporting their learning and wellbeing
- An ability to work independently
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to the requirements of different children
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Sound understanding of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Understanding of play based curriculum
- A commitment to child safety and compliance with Child and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998
- Ability to form warm and responsive relationships with children, families and staff.
