Community Preschool Educator (part-time)

We have a Part-time position for Diplomas/ New Uni Graduates in Early Childhood.

Days needed: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.

Group size: 20 children & working with 3 other educators.

The Northern Nursery School in Mosman is a 60 place, 90-year-old, not for profit community preschool that follows school terms. Children attend from 9am to 3pm and staff from 8am to 3.30pm. 

We are an Exceeding preschool with an aesthetically beautiful environment where children and families are valued and included in all aspects of the program.

About the Role

We are looking for an early childhood professional who have a passion for nature pedagogy and a love for the creative arts and are passionate and joyful in their work with children and other adults. If you have a strong image of the child, and see children as being creative, capable, competent, knowledgeable, and resourceful learners that you co-construct meaning with, we would like to meet you.

Our educators work together in relationships with children and adults to explore, research, and build on ideas and theories that emerge from the children and community. Collaboration, critical reflection, and documentation are key elements that underpin our teaching, and you will need to have strong verbal and written communication skills. 

We have above staff ratios and above award conditions and have a wonderfully supportive staff team and community of families who are looking forward to welcoming you.

We are looking for:

Professional early childhood educators who are interested in finding out more and working with the approaches and practices of the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy. We also expect that you will have a strong working knowledge of the National Quality Standards, including the EYLF.

  • Be confident, capable, and enthusiastic in documenting your work with children, seeing it as a provocation for collaboration, planning, and reflection, in celebrating the child and the work of the group.
  • Have a current Working with Children Check, a current First Aid certificate including Asthma and Anaphylaxis, and a visa that allows you to work full or part-time in Australia.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the child safe standards. Completed the mandatory national child safety training.
