The centre

Kinder Kare is a family owned, purpose-built, modern long day care service that caters for 71 children from 0-12 years of age between 6:30 to 6:30 Monday to Friday.

Our aim is to provide a secure and happy environment where children can grow and develop to become confident and independent individuals.

We are looking for an experienced Room Leader for the 2-3 age group. to work within our team to provide high quality care and facilitate play-based learning and development.

Your key priorities

  • Implementation and planning developmentally and educationally appropriate program is planned and implemented for each child
  • Provide supervision, assistance and guidance to other Educators
  • Create a friendly, secure, stimulating and interactive learning environment for children
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all team members and families
  • Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times


Your skills & qualifications

To be considered for the role, you will have:

  • A Diploma in Children's Services
  • At least one year of experience as a room leader
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong understanding of the National Quality Standards (NQS) and Early Years Learning Framework (ELYF)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in planning, programming and observing

The benefits of distributed leadership at Euroka Children's Centre

What the Early Learning Work Matters project revealed

Reports of the ECEC workforce crisis, educator burnout, insufficient pay, and a lack of professional respect have recently been prevalent in the media. These reports are backed up by studies such as CELA’s Early Childhood Education and Care Workforce Survey Pulse Check, which showed that demand for places, alongside staff absences due to illnesses, professional fatigue and caring for sick family members, are impacting services’ capacity to operate.  

The University of Sydney is currently conducting a study called the Early Learning Work Matters Project (ELWM). The study aims to provide more information about educator workload and how it relates to quality education and care. This week we share results from the study’s initial phase and how you can share your experiences relating to workload through their survey.
