Early Childhood Educator

Gumnut Kindergarten is a not-for-profit kindy Narrabeen on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Gumnut Kindergarten, is seeking an experienced educator for a full time 38 hour position (Monday and Friday), immediate start.

The role represents an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified educator to be part of a small dedicated team in a caring and nurturing environment. The Preschool caters for 3-5 year olds 28 and operates 8.30am to 4.30pm, closing for a period at Christmas.

We are looking for a passionate Early Childhood educator with previous experience working with 3-5 years who can design interesting, child centred programs and learning environments. 

Reporting to the Director, you will be part of a team of educators working together to provide an engaging, warm and stimulating learning environment

 

The successful candidate will: 

hold a Diploma qualification or ECT Degree

  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • share ideas and bring creative perspectives to the preschool team.
  • participate in professional development, critically reflect on practice, and work alongside a mentor.
  • build and maintain respectful relationships with children, their families and colleagues.
  • assist in the development and implementation of a quality play based early childhood program
  • have working knowledge and experience with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.
  • hold a current Working with Children Clearance (NSW).
  • hold a current First Aid certificate.
  • hold current Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates or be willing to obtain.
  • have an understanding of Child Protection legislation and hold a current, approved Child Protection Training qualification or be willing to obtain.

Embedding First Nations perspectives throughout the year
