What You’ll Learn as a Trainee

With the support of your team, you will learn to:

  • Build secure, trusting relationships with children aged 2–6
  • Facilitate quality play experiences that support learning and development
  • Help create inviting environments that nurture curiosity and agency
  • Support routines including mealtimes, rest, transitions and group play
  • Understand and apply the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
  • Work closely with families as co-partners in each child’s learning
  • Contribute to documentation, reflection and intentional teaching practices

You do not need previous childcare experience — just a genuine interest in children and learning. We’d love to hear from you if you are:

- Caring, patient and enthusiastic

- Willing to learn and committed to completing your qualification

- A great communicator and team player

- Reliable, proactive and curious about early childhood development

- Eligible to work full time in Australia

- Able to obtain a Working With Children Check

Government traineeship requirement: You must not already hold a Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care.
