Hours: Between 7:00am – 6:00pm

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Room Leader to join our warm and supportive early learning centre. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team, inspire young learners and create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment. Our size allows our team to focus on their individual teaching philosophies, build meaningful relationships and work collaboratively to learn from one another, fostering continual grow as professionals.

We welcome applications from Qualified Diploma Educators to Early Childhood Teachers (ECT).

About the Role

As our Room Leader, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of educators within or beyond your room. Drive reflective practices.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate high-quality educational programs in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Law and Regulations.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Observe, document and assess children's learning and development.
  • Promote children's wellbeing, safety and individual needs. Drive child paramountcy.
  • Work collaboratively with management to achieve continuous quality improvement.
  • If you are an ECT, you may be required to offer support and mentoring to all educators.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher qualification).
  • Early Childhood Teacher qualification is highly desirable and preferred. (ACECQA approved)
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current HLTAID012 (Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting), including:
  • CPR
  • Asthma Management
  • Anaphylaxis Management
  • Current Child Protection Training (CHCPRT025).
  • National Child Safety Training
  • Sound knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
  • Strong understanding of the National Quality Standard (NQS).
  • Knowledge and practical application of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Australian working rights.
  • Minimum 2 years full time or equivalent work experience in Early Childhood setting.

Desirable

  • Experience as a Room Leader in an early childhood setting.
  • Current Food Safety or Safe Food Handling Certificate.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
  • Experience using childcare management software OWNA.
