Position: Early Childhood Educator - Full time or Part time (Negotiable)

Location: Grafton, NSW              $29.18 – $33.84 per hour /above award wages  Closing date: 16/01/2025

Gummyaney Aboriginal Preschool is a 30 - 38 place Community Preschool catering for 3–5-year-old children in Grafton NSW operating during school terms only - 8 am to 4 pm - Monday to Friday - 40 weeks per year.

The aim of our Preschool is to successfully meet the needs of all Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal children in terms of being, belonging and becoming confident learners under the guidance of our dedicated staff. 

We are seeking a Diploma and /or Cert 111 Educator who is passionate about embedding Aboriginal Language and Culture as well as providing a high-quality inclusive program to join our team. Successful applicants to start 28 January 2025.

We strongly encourage applications from people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that supports the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of each child
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families and the broader community
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant early childhood education regulations and standards
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to continually improve your practice
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to share best practices and contribute to the overall success of the preschool

What we're looking for

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Demonstrated experience working in an early childhood education setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Thorough understanding of early childhood development and the ability to tailor your approach to meet the unique needs of each child
  • Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young children
  • Have a current WWCC and appropriate first aid certificates.
  • Current Police Check
