What is an IFA?

An Individual Flexibility Arrangement (IFA) is a written agreement between an employer and an individual employee. It allows for variations to a term of the award or agreement covering the employee.

• Most awards and agreements contain a ‘flexibility term’ enabling IFAs to be made.
• When drafted in line with the Fair Work Act and Worker Retention Grant guidelines, IFAs can be used to access the government’s funding for educator pay rises.

Who can use this?

This pack is perfect for providers eligible to apply for the Worker Retention Grant:

• Long Day Care or Outside School Hours Care providers
• Services with staff employed under the Children’s Services Award 2010 or Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020
