  • 9:15 AM - 9:30 AM: Welcome and Acknowledgement of Country
    Presenter: Michele Carnegie

  • 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM: Introducing Infant and Toddler Play from a Piklerian Perspective
    Presenter: Katherine Bussey
    This session explores the significance of self-directed play in infants and toddlers, highlighting motor skill development and active problem-solving in an open-ended play environment.

  • 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM: Anxiety and Resilience in Under 5s
    Presenter: Dr. Kaylene Henderson
    Dr. Henderson provides practical, evidence-based strategies for addressing anxiety and building resilience in young children.

  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Connecting Through Culture
    Presenter: Jie Pittman
    This session introduces Aboriginal cultural practices and perspectives, offering insights into connection to Country, kinship, and principles of belonging and identity. The session includes a keynote, an in-depth conversation, and an interactive Q&A.

  • 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Embracing Difference: Neuroaffirming Practice in Education and Care
    Presenter: Jen Boddy
    This session discusses the importance of neuroaffirming practices and provides strategies for supporting all children in early childhood education.

  • 3:15 PM - 4:30 PM: Brain to Brain: The Neuroscience of Calm, Connection, and Co/Self-Regulation
    Presenter: Karen Young
    Karen Young explores the science behind self-regulation and offers practical strategies for managing stress and fostering calm in children and adults.

Note: The session is not APST Aligned, however teachers may consider using this course towards their Elective PD, to maintain teacher accreditation requirements in line with the Elective PD Guidelines.

Note regarding recordings: The recording will be made available to ticket holders via email within 1 week after the event. The recording will remain available to view until Tuesday, 22 April 2025.

** Note regarding certificates: A survey will be sent out after the event to gather attendee details. Details will need to be completed for a certificate to be issued. All certificates will be sent by email before Friday 3 May .
