Overview
What you'll learn
Conversations with families about children’s behaviour, wellbeing or development often involve strong emotions alongside professional responsibility. These discussions can feel complex, yet they are essential to building trust, supporting children’s safety and inclusion, and working in genuine partnership with families.
This session introduces a practical framework to help educators approach sensitive conversations with clarity, confidence and care. Participants will explore how to use the framework before, during and after discussions with families, with a strong focus on respect, collaboration and shared understanding.
Through guided reflection and realistic scenarios drawn from early education settings, educators will strengthen their confidence and consistency when navigating complex conversations, including those related to behaviour, developmental concerns, cultural expectations and professional decision-making.
