Supervision, safety, communication and responding to risk are all part of an educator’s legal responsibility.

This practical session helps educators connect the National Law and Regulations with everyday decisions, from supervision and safety to communication and documentation.

Overview

What you'll learn

This practical session explores what the National Law and Regulations look like in everyday practice, helping educators build confidence, strengthen compliance knowledge and understand how everyday decisions support child safety, quality practice and legal responsibilities.

The National Law and Regulations shape every aspect of education and care practice, from supervision and staffing to safety, communication, documentation and responding to incidents. Understanding the law is not just about knowing the regulations. It is about applying them confidently in real situations, understanding responsibilities and making informed decisions that support children’s safety and wellbeing.

Whether you are new to the sector or looking to deepen your understanding of compliance in practice, this interactive session will help you feel more confident in your role as an educator.

Through practical examples and reflective discussion, participants will explore:

• a brief overview of educator roles and responsibilities
• supervision and active decision-making
• common areas of compliance risk
