The next group of NSW-specific child safety reforms are in effect from 24 April 2026. This session will guide you through what has changed, what you need to do now, and how these updates connect to previous child safety reforms.

You’ll receive an updated guide and access to a recording for a limited time.

Overview

Understand the reforms and what they mean for your service

The latest round of NSW-specific legislative reforms under the Children (Education and Care Services National Law Application) Amendment Act 2025 are in effect from 24 April 2026.

With a significant number of changes introduced since September last year, it can be challenging to keep track of what applies, what has changed, and what action is required. This session is designed to provide a clear, practical overview of the latest April reforms, while connecting them to earlier changes so you can see the full picture.

Delivered by CELA's law and regulations and child safety experts, this session will cut through complexity and translate legal obligations into practical steps for your service. You’ll be supported to understand what the reforms require right now, how they impact your policies and practices, and how to confidently implement them within your team.

What you'll learn

Who should attend

Relevant for anyone responsible for child safety, compliance and practice

This session is designed for anyone working in early education and care who needs to understand and implement the latest child safety law changes. It is relevant for approved providers, nominated supervisors, service leaders, educators, and anyone with responsibility for compliance, governance, or child safety in their service.

You do not need to have attended our previous session on child safety law changes to take part. This session stands on its own and will bring you up to speed on what you need to know now.

If you did attend an earlier session, there is still significant value in joining. The April reforms introduce further changes, and this session builds on previous updates to provide deeper clarity, new requirements, and practical next steps to support implementation in your service.

Great content, love the Padlet, good explanation of resources, understanding of the pressure on services with the amount of changes and work involved.

The open chat and seeing others thoughts and the explanations from Aline were great.
