Gain your child protection certification with the course that sets the standard for the sector
Looking to get certified in child protection? CELA's certified course for early education professionals is trusted across the sector and gives you everything you need to feel confident and capable in keeping children safe in Queensland.
CELA has been delivering child protection training as a Registered Training Organisation for over 15 years. Our CHCPRT025 Identify and Report Children and Young People at Risk course has been developed by a team of child protection specialists including early childhood education and care professionals, child protection and welfare specialists.
Note: This session has been specifically tailored for educators and teachers in Queensland. If you're in NSW, please book into our
NSW specific webinars.
Our 3-part live webinar series covers:
- Legal requirements, including the responsibilities of mandatory reporters.
- Learning how to identify significant harm, the dynamics of abuse and risk factors.
- Reporting requirements for the early childhood sector (our information focus is QLD, but we provide relevant reporting information for participants from other states).
- How to provide child-safe environments and learn about practical approaches to supporting children who have experienced abuse, neglect or trauma.

Participants who successfully complete the related assessment task will be issued with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) for this unit. This SOA is Nationally Recognised. CELA RTO 90842 is not a CRICOS provider. We currently only accept enrolments of domestic students. Students must be working (either paid or as a volunteer) in a registered children’s service to meet the assessment requirements.
Please note: This course is only open to Australian citizens or permanent residents. By booking this course you declare that you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Why should certificates be verified?
Students can apply for credit transfer for a unit of competency or portions of courses when enrolling in competency-based training in other RTOs. RTOs will verify the validity of these certificates to determine if the student is entitled to a credit transfer. This process can also apply to some university qualifications.
Employers (ECEC service providers) should include certificate verification as part of their recruitment process. This ensures that the certificates and qualifications presented are true, valid, and accurate. Certificate verification can be part of the implementation of child-safe standards (standard 5).
