How the Exceeding Themes Influence Your Practices

I really enjoyed the content and the course gave me lots to reflect on.

Dianne S

This session will enable you to ‘unpack’ each exceeding theme in relation to the what and why, and to understand the process of identifying how your practices go above and beyond.

This session has been designed to support educators in understanding the Exceeding NQS themes and assess key practices and evidence to support service quality. It is intended to reframe the Exceeding themes to provide greater clarity and give advice on ACECQA’s Exceeding guidance.

The session is not about how to achieve exceeding, but how the three themes can influence practice to support services to go above and beyond meeting the NQS.

Participants will:

  • Unpack the Exceeding themes.
  • Understand and explore tools and guidance of the exceeding rating.
  • Understand the difference between Meeting and Exceeding the NQS.
  • How to think about practice and elevate quality practices.
  • Understand ACECQA’s Exceeding guidance and the determination of exceeding from Authorised Officers questioning.
