A thriving team doesn’t happen by chance — it’s built through intentional leadership. This Director’s Toolkit session explores how strong relationships, effective communication and a focus on wellbeing can reduce burnout, minimise turnover and create a connected, high-performing educational community.

Overview

What you'll learn

Strong teams are the foundation of high-quality early childhood education and care. When relationships are healthy, communication is clear and wellbeing is prioritised, educators are more engaged, collaboration strengthens and services thrive.

This Director’s Toolkit session focuses on cultivating positive and productive team relationships to enhance morale, strengthen professional collaboration and build a culture of trust. Participants will explore the key characteristics of effective teams, examine practical communication and conflict resolution strategies, and identify meaningful ways to support educator wellbeing.

Through reflection and practical application, leaders will consider how to intentionally create opportunities for team skill development and professional growth — fostering a connected workplace culture that sustains both educators and outcomes for children.
