The webinar made me feel powerful and highlighted the importance of my job in making a difference in childrens' life.

"Children who may seem to have the most challenging behaviours are often the children who are trying the hardest, because their cups are empty."
Kerrie Maguire, CELA facilitator and Early Education Specialist
Sometimes we get caught up in focusing on the behaviour, rather than the underlying need. A child is like a complex jigsaw puzzle and it's our job as educators to find every piece of that child's puzzle so we can work with the full child in a holistic way.
By exploring current research and understanding how children may become vulnerable, you will gain a better ability to work with and support children who often have complex and difficult life experiences.
During this webinar, participants will discuss how disadvantage impacts a child’s development, behaviour and relationships, and how a strengths-based approach to building resilience can have a positive effect.
You will gain the ability to:
- Understand how children may become vulnerable and the impact of disadvantage.
- Identify ways to work effectively with vulnerable children and families.
- Identify practices that support children’s growth and development at key stages and through educational programs.
- Understand what resilience is and how this can be built in children via a strengths-based approach.
