Explore how to deliver respectful experiences that include First Nations histories, cultures and languages, and who to engage with in order to embed authentic Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander perspectives into your program.

Overview

What you'll learn

A guiding principle of the National Quality Framework (NQF) is that First Nations cultures are valued. But where do we begin, and how do we enable others to understand the importance of these rich and diverse cultures?

This workshop is designed to support educators to build a deeper understanding of how to respectfully acknowledge and celebrate the First Nations Peoples of Australia. Together, we will explore meaningful ways to incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and languages into everyday practice, and identify who to connect with to help embed authentic First Nations perspectives within your program.

Highlights

What you'll put into practice

This is a great workshop for those wanting to understand:

  • Why it is important for services and individuals to acknowledge and celebrate First Nations Peoples of Australia
  • Where and how to begin their journey
  • How to plan and deliver experiences for children that are respectful, meaningful and connected to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
