The examples provided were very helpful for our staff. They highlighted that while our team is already engaging in critical reflection, there is a need to go deeper into this practice.

This session was previously known as 'Bringing the EYLF V2.0 to Life: Critical reflection and ongoing professional learning in practice', however the content remains the same.
This session will look at the definitions of critical reflection and ongoing professional learning, as outlined in the Early Years Learning Framework. It will explore the key points educators need to know about the distinction between reflection and critical reflection.
The aim of this session is to help educators to focus on critical reflection and to use it as an embedded practice to drive continuous quality improvement in their service and create professional learning communities.
We will consider what critical reflection actually is and the role it plays in informing plans for professional learning and practice change.
You will discover strategies that support educators to question established practices, engage with theories and action research, and think about why they work in particular ways.
