I really enjoyed sharing ideas around how we do observations and what our challenges are. I appreciated gaining support with these challenges and learning about the changes we can make.

“The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of childhood into maturity.” - Thomas Henry Huxley
When we observe children, what is our purpose and what are we seeing? How often do we take the time to properly observe children’s play? Are we capturing the wonder and amazement that children experience through their play?
During this session, educators will have the opportunity to identify the lenses through which they view children. We will also discuss strategies to engage with children in a more meaningful and respectful teaching and learning process.
This session aims to inspire educators to reflect on their practice and find ways to highlight the understandings that children formulate about the world during play. Educators will explore how to use their observations to plan environments that form deeper connections to children’s exploration and discovery.
NOTE: Teachers in Victoria, QLD, WA, SA, NT, and Tasmania who complete this course will be provided with a certificate and are able to use this course towards their maintenance of Registration requirements.
