A pedagogy of intentionality means that in all aspects of curriculum planning and implementation, educators make deliberate, thoughtful and purposeful decisions to support children’s learning. A highly intentional approach to implementing plans ensures educators can articulate their pedagogy and effectively scaffold children’s learning to help children reach their fullest potential.
By drawing from the planning cycle, this session delves into scaffolding as an intentional teaching strategy and breaks down the planning of experiences into the what, how, and why.
During this informative session you will:
- Understand what is scaffolding and how it links to curriculum planning
- Identify scaffolding strategies through critical reflection and collaborating with the team.
- Explore considerations for planning scaffolding strategies and understand how the EYLF is used as a resource for planning.
- Understand how thoughtful consideration and planning of scaffolding strategies prior to implementing experiences can enrich learning for children.
