We are moving in a fast-paced world, and it is easy to become overwhelmed by the multitude of ways we can document and assess children’s learning. We can sometimes become overly reliant on just one way. Some early education professionals find that digital platforms take them away from children and as a result, many are left unsure about how digital tools can support their practices and deeper-level thinking skills.
This 1-hour express session will explore the role of digital tools in documenting meaningful records of children’s learning and how they can create opportunities to involve children in the process. We will look at how to assess the opportunities and potential negative impacts that these platforms can bring.
During this session, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Review a selection of reflective questions that can be utilised when considering what digital platforms & documentation does or can look like in a setting.
- Discuss ways to ensure that digital platforms are a useful tool that serve us well and meet the requirements under the National Regulation & National Quality standards.
- Take away practical tips for involving children in the documenting of their learning through the use of digital platforms.
