Revisiting the Planning Cycle - Fresh Eyes, Fresh Ideas

The components of the planning cycle sequence the programming and planning process that educators follow to inform their thinking about pedagogy, curriculum implementation and ways to enrich and support children's learning and development.

This 2-hour session will walk through the planning cycle in the updated Early Years Learning Framework V2.0.

Participants will:

  • Refresh and deepen their understanding of the elements of the planning cycle.
  • Reflect on strategies and approaches when constructing the pedagogical program for the children.
  • Explore ways to construct intentional teaching practices and experiences to enrich outcomes for children.
  • Consider the role of critical reflection throughout the planning cycle.

Who would benefit most from this training?

This session can support educators who wish to deepen their understanding of the 5 stages of the planning cycle in the EYLF V2.0, especially those moving into a team leader or educational leader role.  It will also be useful for educators new to planning for children's learning or those returning to the sector after a break.
