Understanding Play Theory - Webinar

Are there certain aspects of children’s play that elicit strong feelings from educators? Do you sometimes feel conflicted about what should be ‘banned’ or ‘allowed’ in children’s play themes?

This session will unpack Play Theory as an important lens in which to view children’s engagement with the ‘unreal’ world. Understanding Play Theory will enable educators to interpret the ‘language of play’ and better support this fundamental right.

2 hour contribution

Elective PD

Completing Understanding Play Theory will contribute 2 hours of PD addressing Standard 1 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Professional Knowledge Standard 1: Know students and how they learn. 

This course may also contribute 2 hours of Elective PD to your maintenance of teacher accreditation requirements, in line with the current Elective PD Criteria https://www.educationstandards.nsw.edu.au/wps/portal/nesa/teacher-accreditation/professional-development/pd-requirements
