This session introduces the Circle of Security program, offering educators an opportunity to explore how attachment theory underpins the approach while aligning with the Belonging, Being and Becoming—EYLF V2.0.
Through practical examples, participants will reflect on their daily interactions with children and gain insights into fostering secure relationships. Educators will be introduced to the Circle of Security Map, a tool that helps them observe and support children as they venture out to explore and return to a safe base.
Guided by the foundational principles, educators will deepen their understanding of responsive caregiving and enhance their ability to build nurturing relationships with children and families. This approach emphasises the importance of:
- Always being strong, kind, and committed
- Following the child’s needs whenever possible
- Taking charge when necessary
