Course overview

What you'll learn

Starting an early education and care service comes with complex responsibilities. This program is designed to support you by combining personalised expert guidance with practical, self-paced learning aligned to the National Quality Framework (NQF).

You will build your understanding of regulatory requirements, strengthen your governance approach, and gain clarity on what is expected as you move towards approved provider status.

This program provides you with:

  • An understanding of the National Quality Framework.
  • Valuable insights into how quality is assessed and rated under the NQF.
  • Clarity around the responsibilities of the Approved Provider under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
  • An understanding of how Approved Providers can comply with the National Law and Regulations through the development of sound governance and reporting procedures.
What's included

Practical support and learning to guide your approved provider journey

1. Four hours of individualised support with one of our Approved Provider experts.

Our one-on-one support aims to increase your understanding of operational requirements under the National Quality Framework (NQF). During two separate two hours sessions facilitated via Zoom video conference, we will cover all aspects of the NQF including responsibilities under the National Law and how to apply the National Law and Regulations in relation to education and service governance.

At the end of the second session our Approved Provider expert will talk you through what you will be facing as you put your application forward, with tailored information based on your service type and structure.

2. Complete online program access for 12 months for up to 6 people.

Program access includes a range of self-paced online workshops, video tutorials, quizzes and an extensive knowledge library. Guide your learning journey by downloading our unique Knowledge Matrix, which can be used as a training needs analysis tool. Once you have analysed your learning needs, you can explore the four workshops and choose where you would like to focus your learning.

Note: A CELA representative will enrol the participant in the online learning portal after purchase. Once enroled, the participant will receive an email inviting them to log in and change their password (the enrolment process will require 24 hours of processing time on weekdays. If the purchase is made on a Friday or over the weekend, the enrolment will be completed on a Monday).

3. A copy of CELA’s Starting from Scratch Toolkit.

The toolkit contains a series of fact sheets designed to help support you through the process of starting an early education and care service. Each fact sheet provides an introduction to its topic as well as some key concepts and requirements for your consideration and further investigation.

Plus: Applicable for non-members - year’s membership with CELA, including access to a wealth of knowledge and inspiration through our 1800 support line, publications and resources, plus significant discounts on training, events and consultancy.
