This 3-hour session provides an essential overview and refresher of child protection legislation, responsibilities, and best practices for professionals working with children in NSW only. Participants will engage in discussions, consider ethical dilemmas and build their knowledge and confidence in responding to child protection concerns.

Professor Cathrine Neilsen-Hewett, Academic Director of the Early Years at the University of Wollongong, has designed this interactive training program to help educators and teachers understand the underlying drivers of children’s behaviour, develop practical relationship-based strategies and strengthen their professional capacity.

By the end of this training, you’ll feel better equipped to meet children where they are and guide them toward positive ways of expressing themselves.

The EYLF V2.0 has been updated with three new principles, including Collaborative Leadership and Teamwork. The importance of effective leadership in early childhood education and care is well documented including the relationship between effective leadership and outcomes for children. This goes beyond formal leadership positions, to include leadership principles and practices enacted by children and educators. (ACECQA, 2023)
 

This 2-hour session will focus on the collaborative leadership and teamwork practices service leaders can implement to improve the quality of their service, including ways to empower children and educators.
