This session will explore the meaning of key terms such as effective, adequate, and active supervision. Exploring these terms will support educators to be conscious of their supervision techniques and become aware of the dynamic nature of supervision.
Through a range of activities such as identifying key times for supervision, risk assessments and supervision plans, this session will enable participants to have a conscious understanding of what active supervision means in their daily practice in order to engage with children while maintaining their safety.

NESA ACCREDITED PD
Completing Engaging with the Principles of Active Supervision will contribute 2 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and Assessment of NSW Curriculum/EYLF addressing Standard Descriptor 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
