About the role 

Our Early Learning Centre is a purpose-built preschool on the grounds of St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School. At our Early Learning Centre, we provide a range of learning experiences for children aged between 3 and 5 years. The centre offers Term Time preschool and Extended Hours preschool.

We are looking for an Early Childhood Teacher to work Monday to Wednesday with shifts ranging from 7:00am to 6:00pm. The successful candidate will work alongside the Director supporting and implementing the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.

You will

  • Work alongside the director to provide high-quality care and education.
  • When required perform tasks associated with being a Responsible Person in Charge of the service.
  • Ensure a welcoming, safe, hygienic environment, reflective of best practices.
  • Be responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of programs in partnership with other Early Childhood Teacher. 
  • Create a fun and engaging environment through play and intentional experiences.
  • Develop positive and supportive relationships with children and families. 
  • Form collaborative and positive relationship with colleagues. 


The successful candidate will

  • Have a bachelor’s degree of Education, Early Childhood
  • Be accredited at minimal Provisional level with NESA; Proficient would be highly regarded
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate including Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training
  • Have completed CHCPRT025 or previous - Identify & Respond to Children and Young People at Risk
  • Be knowledgeable of the Education and Care National Regulations and National Quality Framework
  • Have a current and valid Working with Children Check
  • Agree to be a Responsible Person in Charge in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor


Highly Desirable

  • We encourage those Working Towards their ECT degree to apply
  • Ability to implement contemporary teaching practices in relation to guiding children’s behaviour.
