Increasing numbers of children are presenting with anxiety and stress behaviours in the wake of recent world events and the increasing incidence of complex family issues. As a result, educators are asking: How can we support these children and their families?
In this workshop, we explore the neurological basics of anxiety, fear, and stress in children and how to assist them in coping by reducing their arousal levels.
Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their interactions with children who present with anxiety, fear, and stress behaviour and to reframe their thinking.
This session will provide educators with:
- An awareness of the neurological basics of anxiety, fear, and stress in children.
- Tools that can assist children coping with anxiety and stress to engage effectively in the educational program and the service.
- An understanding of the impact of their current interactions and ways to reframe their thinking to better support these children.
