Dr Gai Lindsay will share how visual arts can deepen children’s learning and self-expression in early education. This thought-provoking session invites educators to reflect on their practice, challenge assumptions, and embrace a broader, more confident approach to arts, crafts and cultural experiences.

Culture shapes identity, belonging, and the way children experience learning. This engaging session explores the practice of cultural responsiveness in the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0 and what it means for everyday practice in early childhood settings. 

This highly practical session guides educators in embedding Aboriginal perspectives through mathematics and demonstrates how these approaches can extend meaningfully across the curriculum.
The session is facilitated by Baihe Butcher, a proud Kamilaroi educator, cultural facilitator and recipient of the Young Achiever of the Year Award for Aboriginal Education.

This two hour session will focus on children’s transitions to school, and how participants can support each child through this journey of change.

Strengthen your understanding of the planning cycle and explore how thoughtful, intentional programming supports children’s learning, development and wellbeing. This practical session unpacks the five stages of the planning cycle in the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0, supporting educators to reflect on pedagogy, intentional teaching, critical reflection and meaningful curriculum decision-making.

Music has intrinsic worth, creating a space where children build their sense of individual and collective identity. It is also a tool for healing, offering freedom for self-expression exploring emotions.

Drawing from current research in relation to how children’s brains grow and develop, this session will support you to identify a child’s stress related behaviour and develop an understanding of how the brain and body work together to create behavioural responses.

Curious about how the process of inquiry can support children’s learning and development?

Inquiry-based learning can support an effective collaborative approach when designing the service program, enabling the paramountcy of children when making program decisions.

Young children are growing up in a world where digital technology is ever-present. When used with purpose, it can enrich learning, deepen inquiry, and strengthen collaboration.

Building confidence in mathematical concepts starts in the early years. This practical and empowering session strengthens educators’ understanding of foundational numeracy and provides simple, play-based strategies to confidently embed mathematics into everyday learning experiences.

This 2-hour session will provide service leaders, educational leaders and educators with strategies to connect with the EYLF V2.0, and resources to better support their teams in engaging with the framework.  

Explore how to deliver respectful experiences that include First Nations histories, cultures and languages, and who to engage with in order to embed authentic Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander perspectives into your program.
