Bringing the EYLF V2.0 to Life: Equity, Inclusion and High Expectations in Practice

  • How can early childhood professionals ensure that their services are inclusive and equitable to all families?
  • Can children with additional needs from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds engage in the program at the same level as their peers?

Inclusion, equity and high expectations is a challenging topic for most educators, but there are many ways that we can change our practice to benefit all families and children attending our services! This 2-hour-session will explore the concepts of equity, inclusion and high expectations, and the importance of each topic.

The EYLF V2.0 has been updated with three new principles, including Collaborative Leadership and Teamwork.

The importance of effective leadership in early childhood education and care is well documented including the relationship between effective leadership and outcomes for children. This goes beyond formal leadership positions, to include leadership principles and practices enacted by children and educators. (ACECQA, 2023)

This 2-hour session will focus on the collaborative leadership and teamwork practices service leaders can implement to improve the quality of their service, including ways to empower children and educators.
